To perform preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs primarily for rolling stock equipment at the Virgil facility, and meet the expectations of the internal customers. Support maintenance activities at all locations as needed.
| • | Preventive Maintenance: Responsible for record keeping, parts inventory, shop readiness, overall preventive maintenance and preventive care training, for rolling and other assigned equipment. |
| • | Equipment Repairs: Maintain equipment and systems knowledge and conduct equipment repairs |
| • | Fabricating: Create specialized tools and equipment to support the company goals for the Midwest Companies. |
| • | Responsible for determining and achieving individual goals, and working toward personal and professional growth, while supporting the department, company and industry. |
| • | 5 years of experience in the field |
| • | Ability to set daily objectives based on preventive maintenance schedule and immediate repair needs |
| • | Ability to prioritize appropriately and communicate and compromise with internal customers |
| • | Strong organizational, communication and training skills |
| • | Excellent technical skills including but not limited to: light and heavy duty tractors, skid steers, 2 cycle and 4 cycle engines, basic electronics, welding, tire repair, document reading, snow plowing, knowledge of carborated systems |
| • | Proficient in basic computer skills ? especially those relating to newer equipment |
| • | Valid Drivers' License ? CDL is preferred |
| • | Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines |
| • | Able to quickly learn and understand a wide variety of technical equipment |
| • | As necessary, be able to work 40+ hours per week, including Saturdays, and able to work unscheduled times to complete tasks timely with minimal interruption to the operation. |
| • | Be on call for after hour emergency repair of heaters, pumps, etc. |
| • | Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork |
| • | 2 year technical degree preferred |
